Pennsylvania has many species of catfish living in our rivers and lakes. Most of the Catfish caught in Pennsylvania are found in the following lakes;

Blue Marsh Lake, High Point Reservoir, Lake Arthur, Lake Erie, Lake Wallenpaupack, Pymatuning Lake, Raystown Lake, Shenango River Lake, Tamarack Lake and Youghiogheny River Lake.

Catfish are bottom feeders so they will eat almost anything. I find that fish heads work great if used during the late night hours. During the day I use normal lures that move fast in the water. The main thing to consider when picking bait is the smell. Catfish live by their sense of smell.

Pennsylvania has three main types of catfish Flatheads, bullheads, and channel cats so do your research on all three before heading out.
